Text of the original catalogue
Civilization appeared in the Koma area, north of Ghana, from the 1980s onward. Mainly remains of terracotta dishes and some metal objects have been found inside the tumulos of the centuries XV a XVIIwhich proves a constant practice of funeral rites. They have also appeared inside these shady figures with a very wide mouth and janiform statues that do not exceed forty centimeters and appear to be related to the bones found. Bronze figurines, clay dishes and some animal figures such as turtles and crocodiles, among others, complete the findings that have been found.Amid the initial disinterest of the government of Ghana, there has been an important spoliation of these figures, with a multitude of uncontrolled excavations.
