Text of the original catalogue

The Wawaare a small ethnic group living in a region of the same name and whose language is also wawa. They are located north of Abuja, the capital of the country, on the Abuja road linking the capital of Tchad, N'Djamena. Their large masks are mainly zoomorphs, and they participate in dances dedicated to the elephant in the Ogdobo Eny's ceremonies, which extol their majesty and strength. His anthropozoomorphic masks participate in the initiation rites of young people. But all of them are also involved in recreational and religious feasts linked to the prosperity of the land and perform organizational functions in Wawa society.
