Text of the original catalogue

The Vuvi live in central Gabon, on the right bank of the Ngoumé River and are neighbours of the Tsogho. It is a village of fishermen and farmers. They are characterized by the simplicity of their masks in which no important quality stands out. As an incarnation of the spirit of the ancestors, they participate in the funeral rites and in the different ceremonies, religious or playful, of the community. Very similar to the Tsogho, equally white, have a slightly longer chin and slightly larger mouth and eyes and more arched eyebrows. Triangular nose.
