Text of the original catalogue
The Toma Sierra Leone, Guinea Conakry, Liberia and western Ivory Coast are in place. The Toma The Poro is the most important society and deals with the initiation of young people, which takes place in the sacred forest. And it is this mask that welcomes young people into adult society. All of its masks have the same features, flat face under a flimsy forehead, with remarkable relief, which clearly marks the separation between face and forehead. Straight nose and lack of mouth. Eyes, sometimes open or sometimes are only two stripes.
