The Adanan integral part of the Adangbé ethnic group, it belongs to the Kwa linguistic group. There is very little information available about this people and most of it provides contradictory data that creates a great deal of confusion between ethnic groups and sub-groups in this area between Ghana and Togo near Accra. The Adan are mainly in the small coastal municipality of Ada, in the Grand Accra region, 70 km from the capital. Adan as well as Ewe produce numerous ritual statuettes, of great simplicity, among which stand out those intended for the practices of the Vudú. They deal mainly with fisheries, agriculture and trade. They celebrate the agrarian festivities, ceremonies of purification of the villages and the different rites of passage.
