These pieces were used in the territory Akan Until well into the century XX. They are all different, both in shape and in size or weight. All of them are decorated with different motifs on their surface. These motifs constitute a true code of signs, a language only known to some high initiates. Fr. Georges Niangoran Nbouah, q.e.p.d. left us an extensive three-volume treatise on the weights of weighing gold, certainly the first and most in-depth study on the subject.
It weighs very ligérally rectangular, bounded in its passage by four relief lines that form another rectangle of such proportions in whose interior two lines in the form of "X" are ringed, topped by spirals in the opposite direction. From the interior lines start perpendicularly small lines that surround the weight reach to its edges. These small lines were used to facilitate weight calculation. Their measures are 2,6x2,4 cms. and its weight is of 10 grams.
