These pieces were used in the Baule territory until well into the century XX. They are all different, both in shape and in size or weight. All of them are decorated with different motifs on their surface. These motifs constitute a true code of signs, a language known only to the high initiated. Fr. Georges Niangoran Nbouah, q.e.p.d. left us an extensive three-volume treatise on the weights of weighing gold, certainly the first and most in-depth study on the subject.
Practically curved rectangular piece, which constitutes a rarity in the weights of weighing gold. In its central part four relief lines delimit a rectangle, with a width of just over one third of the total width, divide this area into three parts. These parts are traversed from one end to the other by zig-zag lines looking in the opposite direction. Perpendicular to the two long outer lines, they start lines, somewhat less than the third of the width, that go to the edges, lines that served to facilitate the calculation of the weight. Its weight is of 23,2 grams.
