Full original description

Curious mask Toma It's meant to honor gemelity. The mask features a woman's torso in which nutritional breasts stand out. From his neck are two heads joined by the skull. Both faces were, in their day, painted with kaolin, almost completely disappeared from one of them covered with what appears to be a thick patina sacrificial. Twins as in other ethnic groups, for example ibedji of the Yoruba, they are not represented when they are children but in their adult state, even if one of them has died. These faces retain the outstanding frontal plane and the straight nose characteristics of the Toma. A bracelet on each arm and maNos interlaced under the bulging belly. The navel is surrounded by upholstery chinches. Dark and rough patina due to the libations received.
