Full original description
The figure of the thinker, in different positions, is frequent in the small statuery in bronze dogon. This type of statuette used to be slicing the molten metal onto a small stone. They were placed in the holes of Bandiagará's fault in the manner of exvotees. The man, sitting on his legs, appears thoughtful as he rests his head on his left hand. The right hand rests on the ground. Note the dimension of the torso and the right hand with respect to the rest of the body. Greenish patina.
