Full original description

It is the statue corresponding to the best known of the baga. Also called D’mba, in vernacular. It is a large shoulder mask that appears in the ceremonies dedicated to birth and marriage and also in the consecrated fertility of the fields and in the fun holidays. Here we have his male corresponsence in the form of a statue, with a promitiously belly and a large head speckled by cauris. The prominent belly, like the navel, is an allusion to female fertility in remembrance of its homonymous mask.
