Full original description

Rare baulé sorcerer mask. It is not a mask to be covered, it is an altar mask intended for magical and divinatory rites. The head of the mask has anthropomorphic rags although they dominate the features of the MBotumbo or Mbekré. It's topped by a couple, man and woman, sitting on a stool. Both are dressed in a cloth typical of ethnicity. Because of the sad and sorry aspect they present it could be a mask intended to favor the transit to the beyond of a deceased descendant.

Heavy dense wood with dark patina, and red and yellow polychrome in the characters' clothing.
