Full original description

The style Sangu or Masango reduces the proportions of the head and suppresses the side parts, although it retains the chaped head of copper or brass, as in this case. They always appear in the center of a basket braided with vegetable fibers and rope. These figures are named after Mbumba. Actually the basket is not a reliquary, it is a rather a locket because it is placed on the container containing the bones of the ancestor. Very old dark patina.
