Full original description

Pendant that has been used by a remarkable in ceremonies. The double crocodile is a repetitive figure in jewels and in weights weighing the gold baulé. The crocodiles are crossed, simbolizing male and female dualism. The crocodile is one of the primordial animals of creation and appears in the cosmogonies of many African peoples. The crocodile is the link of the union between water and earth and the dispensator of water to earth. This pendant is made of a gold bronze alloy and adorned with the typical filigree of the Baulé and of Akan.
