Full original description

These masks. mwana-pwo represent the beauty of the young woman who evokes, at the same time, the ancestral mother, Pwo, the first ancestor, who protects the fertility of her descendants and the fields. In addition to the incarnation of the ancestor it symbolizes the ideals of the woman of this ethnic group. The wearer of this mask saw during the dance a kind of net with false breasts and a canvas around the waist. Like the mask cihongo is a dance mask. The beneficial influence these masks exert on those who attend their dances justifies the retribution with which the performance of the dancers is appreciated. It can be classified as fertility mask or deceased.
