Full original description

Before reaching adulthood the boys are organized in different age classes in which they receive the corresponding successive initiations until they get the knowledge and values of the Mossi society. In the last phase of these initiations the boys carry a cane on their shoulders, a sign that they have already reached adulthood. The handle of this cane represents a boy whose legs are the head of a bird with a long beak. Old patina.
