Full original description

In the tschokwé statuette it is not common to find female figures, except for some who have a pitcher on their heads. The rare exceptions that appear are often assimilated, albeit without any certainty, to the Queen Mother, the wife of Tchibinda Ilunga, Lueji, or the chief wife of some important chief. This figure presents a woman with a voluminous hairstyle and the ethnic symbol on her forehead, something characteristic of most Tschokwese pieces. His face is serious and his hands hold flaccid and elongated breasts, which like his rather prominent belly are symbols of motherhood. These figures are considered maternity wards even if they are not accompanied by any children. Its features are quite geometric. Brown patina.
