Finely sculpted maternity giving of sucking her child, placed on her lap. As in most African maternity homes, the child is an insignificant figure compared to the mother, whose figure is to be highlighted. Scarifications and her hairstyle denote her high rank. Abundance of scarifications throughout the body. Expression of serenity characteristic of the Baule statuery. Hard wood, dark brown patina.
