Elongated forehead mask and narrowing to the chin, with two large curved appendices rising over the top. The face is almost flat and light grey; has two small holes in the eye area and a central rectangular relief with vertical grooves. This description corresponds to the photograph taken on a red background.

The appendices can be read as a zoomorphic motif, but the silhouette is not enough to determine the evoked species or a cultural affiliation. The comparison with abstract masks of equatorial Africa serves as a formal orientation, without allowing this piece to be identified as bakongo, kwélé or another group.

the attribution bakongo from the catalogue could not be verified. In addition, the gallery brings together four masks in different ways: images 13628, 13629 and 13630 are not other views of the red background mask. Your association with FET-88 should be reviewed before being used to identify it. The characteristics and uses of these other masks are not moved to this part.
