Full original description

The Lomane mask, the fourth mask of Dje's masks, has a human face and a bird rises on its head. It belongs to the brotherhoods of men responsible for organizing the funerals of important figures, to honor the spiritual power of the deceased. These masks belong to the secret society Djé and represent the spiritual power of the “yu”, which is the intermediary spirit between the spirit world and man. These spiritual forces are also intermediary between man and Bali, the Creator God. They also perform political, legal and social functions.

They also receive the name of masks Anoman, bird. The bird frees the body of the animals from the parasites so that their presence means that destroying the worms that corrod the body symbolizes the purification of the body. This mask carries over the head a bird with wings deployed. Dark patina.
