Full original description
These little equestrian figures, called bronzes Saowhich appear in the Tchad, in the territories formerly occupied by the Sao In fact, the Kokotos, established mainly in the Lake Tchad basin, have been developed by their descendants, who inherited from their ancestors the art of melting the metal. These figures are used to combat locira and in ceremonies aimed at fighting witchcraft.
Little figure of a Targui rider (singular of tuareg) carrying someone in the group of his horse, probably a page. The body of the escort is very stylized and its head is fully covered by the turban. The rider holds the reins with his right hand while the left seems to grab a knife. The horse, with its head stylized in the form of an elephant tube, has a saddle.
