Full original description
These little equestrian figures, called bronzes Saowhich appear in the Tchad, in the territories formerly occupied by the Sao In fact, they were made by their descendants the Sokoto, established mainly in the Lake Tchad basin, who inherited from their ancestors the art of melting the metal. These figures are used to combat locira and in ceremonies aimed at fighting witchcraft.
This figure represents a rider with the reins of the horse in his right hand while the left holds a small bow. In the group there is another person, probably a page, with a highly stylized figure and long ringed neck. You don't see apparent head on either of the two characters. The horse's head, stylized, would be more like an elephant tube. The rider has on his left side, on a crossbody, a small nose. Very dark patina.
