Full original description
Containers similar to those kuduo are the Forowa with which they are often confused, destined to keep jewels and valuable small objects such as weights weighing gold and sometimes dust and gold nuggets. It has also been used to store karite butter and ointments intended for religious rites. The main difference is that the Kuduo are of brass or of the so-called African bronze and produced by the procedure of lost wax, the melted has a sacred value, while the Forumwa are normally made of hammered brass plate, resulting in a series of drawings repulsed into the metal. And like the Kuduos, when his owner died, he was placed in his grave next to his other belongings or kept at the family altar.
Together with the Kuduo are two of the most important artistic productions of bronze Ashanti.
East Forowa consists of a base with geometric drawings and openings in the form of triangle and of the condenser, with repulsed figures of hens and windows and geometric drawings. In the semi-spherical cap there are several levels delimited by circumferences. Very old patina.
