Full original description
Statue, call thilIts function is to bring to a successful conclusion, pregnancy or to grant fertility to women with difficulties in having children. The women honor her with various offerings and pouring various liquids on the statue, specifically libations with millet beer. Given the patina of this statue may have been watered with sacrificial blood. The family altar is in an isolated room in which there are different objects of worship, such as wood or clay sculptures or figures of iron or brass, and various containers. Frequent sacrifices made in these altars made it possible to ensure the protection of ancestors and the preservation of the disease.
This kneeling woman, in a prayerful attitude, with generous breasts and hands on her lower belly in peace, reveals a fineness of features and a rare beauty in the statuette Lobi.
