Curious mask, of marked influence Guró, that by its style could belong to the Mblo festive masks, but two important elements place it in the category of masks dedicated to exalting or imploring female fertility. The ram horns are symbols not only of strength and momentum but mainly of reproductive capacity and, on the other hand, the woman, who is always a symbol of fertility. This woman rises on the mask, kneeling, in a position of supplication or imploration, possible to give birth to coming. It all suggests that this mask is intended to demand and favor female pregnancy and a period of gestation that ends with the smooth delivery of a new life. Brown patina.
