Full original description

Little, curious bronze figurine that represents a woman with twisted arms. The left arm passes through the back to touch the right thigh while the right arm passes through the front to rest on the left thigh, both arms at the height of the knees. The arms are disproportionately long and give the piece a completely twisted look. Hard to know what happened to the castor's mind when making the piece, though as these small pieces are usually votive that the Dogon They introduced into the pits of Bandiagará, it might be thought that this is an action of gratitude for the healing of an evil or a physical deformation. Time skate.
