Full original description

Mask belonging to a hunter or secret society of hunters. They are not masks that are worn or that participate in public ceremonies. They are usually placed in the personal altars of the hunter or of his secret society to favor hunting while performing an act of relief so as not to be disturbed by the soul or nyama of the dejected beast. The African hunter does not kill for killing, like the European one, kills to feed his family or the village. The facocero is an animal preferably from the African savanna but can also be found in wooded areas. It is known as a verrucoso boar, due to the bone excretions it has in the cheekbones. In an agile and strong animal, rather peaceful, it only attacks if it sees cornered and without exit. It is mostly in Muslim areas because their religion prevents them from consuming their meat. This mask has been manufactured by an excellent castor although its morphology is quite far from what is the head of a true facocero.
