Full original description

Mask intended to participate in funeral ceremonies and the cult of ancestors. This cult, with the periodic resurrection of the antepasate, plays a very important social function in addition to its religious function. This mask has quite realistic features, its triangular nose is the prolongation of thick arched eyebrows under which there are lignerously open eyes to allow the vision of the mask carrier. Its thick eyelids, black as well as the nose, eyebrows, mouth and headdress, form elliptical figures. The mouth is elongated, with a wide open lips and a very realistic look. The headdress consists of four smooth loops. From the mask comes a sense of tranquility and peace. White patina, kaolin, on which black features stand out.
