Full original description

Softwood mask that has badly resisted the passage of time and attacks of the xylophages. Jumping eyes with traces of black and white pigmentation. The hair falls on the forehead forming two triangular peaks on either side of the band that prolongs the nose towards the forehead. ritual scarifications on the cheeks and thick lips that form the mouth. The cabera is presided by a bird, which could be a calao, sacred bird for many African peoples. The presence of the bird suggests that it is a mask intended for agrarian ceremonies. The mask for the Igbo tries to present the existing harmony between the organization of the world and human society thus creating a link between the sacred and the profane.
