Full original description
Ancient and rare ibibian mask intended for the cult of ancestors. Its polychrome contrasts between the kaolin white of the face and the dark brown of its large ciliary with huge shiners, which occupy much of the upper part of the face, and of the headdress. The ears are formed by a line of four scarifications. The jaw, which is not swinging, is perfectly drawn. The headdress consists of three overlapping crowns of triangles. The mascra denotes the passage of time.
