Full original description

The people Eket It is formed by a caste society, being the most important Amamala. They practice the cult of ancestors and perform agricultural rites to obtain the fertility of the crops, rendering worship to Ala, divinity of the earth.

Like the ibibio and other peoples, they also have the secret ekpo society, during which ceremonies they use their circular masks. Another society called ekong uses anthropomorphic scimers. They have masks with police function.

This small mask, with white and brown polychrome, reproduces the human face that appears on the circular masks.
