Full original description

The elephant mask could not be missing in a country that has made this animal its national teaching. The elephant is a noble animal that in many places in Africa has been a symbol of royalty. It is a mask of hunter, a character that enjoys great prestige throughout Africa. These masks participated in the ceremonies of secret societies of hunters especially in funeral rites by deceased members and currently participate in both playful and religious festivities. It's rare to find a Baule elephant mask of this antiquity.
