Full original description
Head commemorating a dwarf of the court of the king of Benin. For the elegance of his strokes, the finesse of his expression and the thinness of the material we think it is a work of an artist of the century XIV a XVII, the posterior ones are characterized by much rougher features and thicker the thickness of its walls. But only the thermoluminescence test can give an exact dating. This work belonged to the particular collection of the father of the Senegalese antiquarian Mamadou Marema Diop, of the third generation of antiquarians.
