Full original description

Chair with profusely decorated cariatides of which in African art are usually known with the name "throne". In the back of the upper level, the seat, two warriors with spears appear sculpted, undoubtedly the guardians of the sanctuary. There is no information about this chair. It can be deduced from its decoration that it belonged to a shrine or altar of the god Eshu whose face appears in a kind of banners worn by the central figure, front, at the bottom. The characters alternate between men and women. This chair was badly damaged and has undergone a major restoration while respecting indigenous repair.
