Full original description
In addition to their usefulness as cosmetic cans, they also serve to store ointments that constitute true magic ointments intended to protect their owner against different hidden dangers, in particular during certain ceremonial festivities.
They are from Akan origin and are used by all women in the group, whether they are baule, ashanti or agni. They are named after forowa and are manufactured by the lost wax procedure. They are inspired by the Kuduo designed to store valuables and especially gold. They are also used in funerary rites. They have three legs that remember some granaries of the villages, raised to hinder the access of rodents. In their outline are crocodiles and snakes, two of the primordial reptiles that symbolize cunning. Acquired in Abidjan in the 1960s.
