Full original description
Figure of ancestor with arms plagued on the sides, with hands stretched out but fingers together. It offers an aspect of a certain hermaphroditism, frequent in the African statuary, small feminine breasts but with apparent masculinity. Prominent navel. Its diamond-eyed head and pointed beard, in the form of a spike, seems to accuse a songhyé influence and, however, the hairstyle makes think of a luba or hemba influence. Broken pedestal. Red wood and beautiful patina for use, dark.
