Full original description

Curious statue of a long-armed dogon ancestor with his hands resting on the knees of slightly bent legs. Ringed dolls and forearms. The torso is scarified in all its length with two thick zig zag lines representing the snake, a figure that occupies the center of the dogon cosmogony. The head is a disc placed horizontally over the neck. the beard on the African woman indicates its notability. Figure made in a single piece of wood. Ancient patina with remains of sacrificial substances, which proves that this image has been the object of worship and libations.
