Full original description

Simple ring made of two twisted copper threads. This type of amulet ring is used in most ethnicities of West Africa. It is given a great protective value, against disease, against enemies and sorcery and even against bullets. The owner of this ring told the author of these lines that if they shot him they could not kill him, only water would come out of the bullet hole. The author preferred not to do the test, often wearing several ringed fingers with different rings, as each can have a specific protective power. For the ring to have strength, i.e. efficacy, it must be consecrated by the fetish or fetish maker.
