Full original description

Excavations carried out from the years 1975 revealed some funerary reliquaries or urns that appeared in the necropolis. The neck of these funerary vessels, sort of phallic jars, is topped with heads of flat, ovoid faces with scarifications or whole characters, even mounted on horseback, most of them in fragments. The analyses carried out allow dating this culture that flourished northwest of Niamey between the centuries XIV a XVIIFrom the remains found, it is known that they practiced the cult of the deceased.

terracotta head with an elongated neck, which closed the funeral urns containing remains of ancestors. They appear in the places where burials have been discovered, so they were destined for funeral cults. The excavations were carried out mainly in the years 1975 a 1983. This elongated neck head and large reliefs in the hair and facial scarifications, and two semicircular reliefs in the coquello have little defined facial features, so it seems to be a piece of cnconsiderable antiquity.
