Full original description

Although they are mostly Muslim, the Igala, they also practice the cult of the spirit of the Egu dead during the feasts of the Yam, an opportune moment to invoke the ancestors. Egu is present in the mask ojuegu. Egu is manifested mainly in the ceremonies of worship of the dead that are celebrated at the celebrations of the yam harvest. As most African peoples practice a certain syncretism in the field of religion. They have statues and masks that they use during religious rites and festivals.
