Full original description
Mask formed by four discs and a central "T" on which two birds of little defined siluea are raised at the top as is usual in this type of masks. The upper discs are delimited in areas painted in black and white, while the lower ones have concentric circles black, white and red from the inside to the outside. In the center rises the fin of a shark, a marine animal very frequent in the masks of this ethnic group. It's a "canioca" initiation mask. It is the group of twelve to seventeen years, that is, the age of adolescence. During this period they wear masks of all kinds of animals, mammals, fish or birds, but animals that do not have a well-defined form to indicate that these young people are not yet formed.
