Hunter’s Trollop

The Diula are implanted in most West African countries and in the north-eastern Ivory Coast west of the Comoé wildlife reserve, also known as Buna reserve, where they were established over the centuries XV a XVII. They are a village of merchants, of origin I sent. Diula means merchant and have remained with this name given by the Maliné. When practicing trade along and across the entire West African language Diula has become a vehicular language spoken by many people in these countries. Its commercial vocation has been the cause of its great dispersion. Most of the Diula during the rainy seasons, Diula they are weavers and farmers and there are also hunters to ensure the subsistence of the remotest villages. They control most of the agricultural trade in the places where they are implanted, whose products they sell in the most favorable seasons.

This simple hunting tube was offered to me by the hunter and tracker Diula Mbema from the town of Sarandará, in the diula country and near the Comoé reserve. By its shape it looks like a horn of sitatunga, antelope looking for its habitat in forest galleries near rivers and in swampy areas.
