Full original description

The secret Bwiti association ensures the union of the group. Like other ethnic groups in Gabon, Kota, Fang or Ambete For example, they also worship forefathers. Access to Bwiti society is achieved after a series of hard tests.

They alternate the black and white pigmentation on which large and fine eyebrows in the form of a swallow stand out with the wings spread, elongated eyes and lligérously curved and a mouth barely insinuated

These masks, which wear the color of the deceased, participate in funerals and in the Bwiti. They represent Moghonzi, the spirit of a deceased. When they are out of use they are stored in the meeting house of the initiates, the ebanza. These masks have a great resemblance to those of their neighbors the Vuvialthough in this case the wooden structure that surrounds the head as if it were a cloth that covers it adds a special character.
