Full original description
The Vuvi live in central Gabon, on the right bank of the Ngoumé River and are neighbours of the Tsogho. It is a village of fishermen and farmers.
They are characterized by the simplicity of their masks in which no important quality stands out. As an incarnation of the spirit of the ancestors, they participate in the funeral rites and in the different ceremonies, religious or playful, of the community. Very similar to the Tsogho, equally white, have a slightly longer chin and slightly larger mouth and eyes and more arched eyebrows. Triangular nose.
This mask has the face painted white with kaoli and the head from the eyebrows and nose of black color. The hair is represented by a raffia headdress.
