Full original description

It is not one of the classic statuettes of Benin that usually represent court figures, midgets, messengers or musicians. Because of the unusualness of this statue, it's hard to pinpoint. By the filigree and horns of his headdress as well as by the circular knife and the small sickle could be a healer, a scissor, a sacrificer or a magician. The circular knife resembles those used to practice circumcision or excision.
