Full original description

These vessels are characterized by this anthropomorphic figure always with an open mouth. The large lips in the shape of duck beak and combed in the form of grooves appear frequently in this type of containers. Arms folded by the elbow form a whole with the body. A squirt on the back serves to fill the vessel. In addition to containing liquids, these containers served as a rattler in the divinatory practices aimed at healing. Bones or seeds are inserted inside and the patient is removed several steps away from the fortune teller, moving the container and making the objects sound inside. The fortune teller interprets the sounds and draws his conclusions.
